The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs stands as the social protection and advocacy arm of the Government of St. Kitts- Nevis, supporting and safeguarding the human rights and welfare of all persons, including vulnerable groups such as the elderly, disabled, indigent, and youth in conflict with the law.
To accomplish this, eight (8) distinct units/departments have been established:

The main offices of the Ministry are located at Victoria Road. The Administration Building (green building) houses the following Departments:

The Department of Community Development & Social Services is located at the Antioch Baptist Church Building, Lime Kiln, Basseterre.
Counselling services for all age groups can be accessed at the National Counselling Centre, which is located at Wades Garden, Basseterre.
The address of the New Horizons Rehabilitation Centre is at Saddler’s Village, St. Kitts, approximately thirty (30) minutes’ drive from the main offices.
Ministerial Oversight is provided by the Honourable Mr. Geoffrey Hanley – Senior Minister of Social Development & Gender Affairs, and the Honourable Ms. Isalean Phillip – Junior Minister of Social Development & Gender Affairs.
